Regards d’ailleurs. Rhapsodie en bleu: Monaco

13 - 25 September 2024

A rhapsody in music is a work characterized by an irregular structure and intense emotional expression.
Free in its structure, it presents a range of moods,
of strongly contrasting colors and tones. Very expressive, rhapsody evokes improvisation and offers an air of spontaneous inspiration.
The exhibition Regards d'ailleurs: Rhapsody en bleu, with the collaboration of the artist David Elia, presents a selection of works produced in cyanotype.
This photographic technique, invented in the 19th century, is a slow-reacting, economical photographic printing formulation sensitive to ultraviolet rays and the blue light spectrum. It produces a cyan blue print used in art as monochrome imagery applicable to a wide range of media.
Cyan blue and the cyanotype technique are the common denominator of this body of work created by a group of creative and talented individuals from the Monaco Disease Power association.
The free structure, just like that of a musical rhapsody,
takes us on a fantastic journey through the minds of these young artists, each with a unique approach to the subject. A general feeling of spontaneity, improvisation and intense freedom emerges from this exceptional ensemble.
