Moretti Fine Art is delighted to announce the exhibition Marcos Lozano: A Reflection on Time for the National Gallery’s Bicentenary, running from 1st to 25th July 2024 in the gallery’s London venue. This year marks the 200th anniversary of The National Gallery, London, and in tribute to this occasion Moretti Fine Art will present a selection of 12 oil works by the contemporary artist Marcos Lozano. Each of them echoes 12 paintings belonging to the collection of the London Institution, offering both a unique juxtaposition of time-honoured classics yet historical and contemporary interpretations and a profound appreciation for the eternal concepts of beauty and truth that transcend time.
The gallery will participate in the 2024 summer edition of the London Art Week, and, on the occasion, it will host an opening reception on Monday 1st July from 5 to 7pm, at the presence of the artist, Marcos Lozano, who will help the viewers to navigate through the fictional timeline of his oeuvre where the past and present merge seamlessly.
Marcos Lozano, born on 13th September 1990 in Madrid, has completed his artistic studies with excellence at the Complutense University of Madrid and, since then, he has rooted his artistic vision in the tradition of the Spanish Golden Age while innovatively incorporating contemporary elements. His work reaffirms the genre of figurative representation and continues the narrative of historical art into the present. A co-founder of Ars Pulchra, Lozano seeks to integrate art into the fabric of daily life, aiming to influence both individuals and businesses through his creative endeavours. Having already exhibited in major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, and Bergamo, Lozano currently resides and works in the South of France.
