MORETTI FINE ART AND MONACO DISEASE POWER PRESENT REGARDS D’AILLEURS AN EXHIBITION OF ELEVEN PAINTINGS MADE BY STÉPHANE, GIL, NICOLAS AND THEIR FRIENDS USING THEIR UNIQUE CREATIVE IN ORDER TO SHOW THEIR VISUAL FORM. THESE PAINTINGS REPRESENT A BRIDGE OF COMMUNICATION AND INCLUSION FOR THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE INTO OUR REALITY AND THEY ARE THE SINCERE EXPRESSION OF THEIR VISIONS, EMOTIONS AND MEMORIES OF THE WAY THEY LOOK AT OTHERS.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS COLLABORATION IS TO ILLUSTRATE THE INVISIBLE LINE THAT SEPARATES REALITY FROM THE INNER WORLD OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE AUTISM AND MENTAL DISABILITY. ALTHOUGH VERBAL SELF-EXPRESSION AND LANGUAGE ARE OFTEN DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, THEY TEND TO FIND IT MORE NATURAL TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES WITHOUT WORDS, IN THE FORM OF ART. ART CAN BUILD A BRIDGE FOR THOSE PEOPLE TO EXPRESS THEIR FEELINGS AND IMPRESSIONS OF THE WORLD.
THE EXHIBITION, THAT WILL BE OFFICIALLY OPENED BY H.S.H. PRINCE ALBERT II, FOLLOWS AN ITINERARY OF THREE DIFFERENT AND COMPLEMENTARY PHASES.
THE FIRST SECTION OF THE EXHIBITION IS A SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS SHOWING THEIR ACTIVITIES AND THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF MONACO ART DISEASE POWER. THE RESULT IS A SERIES OF ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAITS THAT OPENS A WINDOW INTO THE LIVES OF THESE CHILDREN THAT IS ORDINARILY CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
IN THE SECOND PART, THE PAINTINGS MANIFEST THE ARTISTIC VALUE OF THE HEART’S CONTENT AS A WAY OF COMMUNICATING. SCRATCHES AND COLOURS COMPOSITIONS EXPRESS THEIR CREATIVE HANDS. THE PAINTINGS CONTRADICT THE STEREOTYPE OF THE CONVENTIONAL WAY OF REPRESENTING REALITY: THEY CULTIVATE A CHARACTERISTIC REPERTOIRE OF MARKS AND SIGNS, CREATING, AS IT WAS A PEACEFUL REALM OF ITS OWN, AN INTIMATE AND VULNERABLE PRIVATE WORLD.
A VIDEO INSTALLATION CONCLUDES THE EXHIBITION. THIS SHORT FILM IMMORTALISES MEMORIES OF PEOPLE WITH AUTISM AND INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY AND THEIR EDUCATORS DURING THEIR DAILY ACTIVITIES IN THE CENTRE AÉRÉ AND THEIR STAY IN LA MAISON D’AMÉLIE AND LA MAISON DES COPAINS.
ALL THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALES OF THE PAINTINGS AND PHOTOGRAPHS WILL GO IN SUPPORT OF MONACO DISEASE POWER, AN ASSOCIATION CREATED 14 YEARS AGO, THAT AIMS TO HELP THESE YOUNG THROUGH VARIOUS SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING ARTISTIC LABORATORY, TO INTERACT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE.
